Job summary

Ontic is seeking a Temporary IT Helpdesk Support Technician (Contract) to deliver frontline Tier 1–2 IT support at our Creedmoor, NC facility. The role emphasizes security, ITAR/NIST/CMMC alignment, and on-site operations in a controlled environment.

You will report to the Director of IT and support the team for up to two months, with potential extension. Strong problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration with technical and non-technical users are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT/CS/Cybersecurity or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience providing Tier 1–2 IT helpdesk support in Windows environments
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to follow strict security policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT helpdesk support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals in secure environments
• Maintain records and tickets in ServiceDesk; update status and resolution details
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in compliance with IT security policies
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based systems per cybersecurity requirements
• Support Microsoft 365 and engineering/defense software used in regulated environments
• Assist with user provisioning, access controls, and Active Directory management
• Maintain system documentation per ITAR, NIST, CMMC or applicable frameworks
• Deploy and support systems in controlled-access environments as permitted by clearance
• Conduct patch management, antivirus updates, and endpoint security monitoring
• Escalate incidents following established IR and security procedures
• Support audits and compliance checks with accurate technical records
