Job summary

MBC Holdings, Inc. in Ann Arbor seeks a construction superintendent to manage daily site operations from planning to completion.

You will coordinate subcontractors, inspectors and vendors, monitor quality control, and provide on-site direction to the team to keep projects on schedule. The ideal candidate has an associate degree or at least three years of field experience, understands traffic control, can write reports, and communicates effectively with clients and crews across diverse weather

Qualifications

• Associate degree and/or at least three years of construction field experience.
• Experience establishing and monitoring traffic zones.
• WTS certification in Ohio preferred but not required.
• Ability to set priorities and use time effectively, especially when challenges arise.
• Communicate effectively with subcontractors and vendors.
• Familiar with common construction tools and physically able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors and clients.
• Good reading comprehension for safety regulations and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, team members and vendors to complete each project on time.
• Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards at various stages of the project.
• Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute duties effectively.
• Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet safety and compliance regulations.
• Maintain a written daily log of visitors, actions, materials, and problems resolved on site.
• Travel between multiple job sites and manage workloads of projects.
• Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings as needed.
• Set an example by keeping the job site organized and meeting waste/environmental standards.
