Job summary

Barton Malow in Detroit seeks a Senior Superintendent who leads daily construction activities on the jobsite to ensure the project is completed within budget, schedule, and quality standards.

The senior field leader sets the safety and quality culture, mentors field staff, and carries administrative responsibilities including coordinating with contractors and suppliers, monitoring material inventory, developing reports, conducting inspections, and implementing safety policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of superintendent leadership experience.
• 10+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience in Education projects is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all phases of the construction project, from initial planning through closeout.
• Communicate and enforce compliance with all safety and quality control processes and procedures.
• Supervise, coordinate, and sequence contractor work to minimize interference between trades on the project.
• Maintain records of labor and material cost, and track inventory to ensure materials are on hand to support the schedule.
• Take a lead role in addressing and resolving trade disputes and work jurisdiction issues.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to field staff, and manage relationships and communication with internal team members, subcontractors, and trade partners.
