Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Safety Manager for an on-site role in Montgomery, AL. You will support the senior safety manager and project team to manage safety and health processes on a construction project, ensuring compliance and a strong safety culture.

The position requires collaboration with owners, trade partners, and internal teams, with emphasis on reportable data, audits, and proactive safety initiatives. This is a safety-sensitive, full-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree is preferred.
• Occupational Safety and Health degree suggested.
• Minimum of 3 years of safety experience on commercial construction projects.
• CHST certification designation is suggested.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with project owners, insurance carriers, Hensel Phelps staff, and trade partners.
• Attend owner meetings and coordinate with safety representatives as needed.
• Lead safety program development and CARES committee initiatives.
• Assist in safety start‑up, program development, and management for the project.
• Oversee the safety budget and necessary supplies; maintain documentation and data.
