Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI) is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist for pharmaceutical construction projects in Rahway, NJ. The role drives safety leadership on active sites, mentors crews, and enforces OSHA standards to minimize risk and injuries.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction safety, strong leadership, and certifications (OSHA 510/30-Hr). Relocation within commuting distance is encouraged; travel and per diem are not offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience on active projects.
• Pharmaceutical construction safety experience required.
• OSHA 510 certification within 30 days of hire (company-paid).
• Strong leadership to influence field personnel and supervision.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and high-risk activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary safety resource for project teams and trade partners.
• Lead proactive site safety culture and incident prevention.
• Coach field personnel on OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Lead Pre-Task Planning, JSAs, permits, and incident investigations.
• Provide safety orientations and toolbox talks to crews.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and client safety rules.
• Support high-risk activities: electrical, fall protection, crane, LOTO.
• Prepare safety reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve safety performance.
