Job summary

gobravvo is seeking a Construction Safety Manager (CSM) in San Diego, CA, to lead the development and enforcement of comprehensive safety programs on construction sites. The role focuses on hazard identification, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with project teams to protect personnel and ensure safe project execution.

You will conduct inspections, lead safety training, maintain records, and help implement emergency response plans across multiple active sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in construction safety management or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations applicable to construction activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with employees, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Strong organizational abilities to maintain accurate safety records, training certifications, and compliance documentation.
• Capability to safely access heights using ladders or scaffolding, as required for on-site inspections and assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Inspect active construction sites to evaluate work conditions and guarantee adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with contractors to identify hazards and devise solutions to minimize exposure to risks.
• Liaise with government inspectors and external regulatory agencies to ensure safety protocols are observed and documented.
• Work with project management and field teams to address safety-related concerns on-site and update safety plans.
• Review project blueprints for safety considerations including disposal systems, evacuation plans, lighting, and ventilation.
• Assist senior management in developing and updating emergency response procedures and plans.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, such as OSHA 300 logs and training records.
• Facilitate safety training programs for all employees, ensuring understanding of safe work practices and emergency protocols.
• Address non-compliance by disciplining subcontractors and employees who fail to adhere to established safety standards.
• Represent the company in meetings with governmental and regulatory organizations regarding workplace health and safety.
• Stay informed about updates to legal regulations and safety program initiatives relevant to workplace safety and environmental issues.
