Job summary

Siteguard Safety is hiring a Safety Specialist to lead day-to-day safety operations on active construction projects. You will work closely with foremen and project managers, conducting inspections, coaching crews, and ensuring documentation is thorough and up-to-date.

The role emphasizes hands-on field work, safety program management, and effective communication with diverse teams, including onsite personnel and owners. A robust on-site safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety experience in construction.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards in the field.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between jobsites daily.
• Ability to communicate credibly with diverse teams and owners.
• Experience on active construction sites and safety management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine jobsite inspections and audits; document findings and drive corrections to closure.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety orientations; train crews on safety practices.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs, SDS libraries, training records, and project safety plans.
• Develop JHAs and pre-task plans; review for accuracy and completeness.
• Interface with GC safety requirements, prequalification platforms, and third-party audits.
• Manage fall protection, silica, scaffold, aerial lift, and PPE programs in the field.
• Support workers' comp claims and return-to-work coordination.
• Track leading/lagging indicators and report trends to leadership.
