Job summary

Staco Electric Construction Co. is seeking a Safety Specialist for full-time, on-site work in the Kansas City metropolitan area. You will oversee daily safety practices on construction sites, conduct inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple projects.

The role focuses on training, incident investigations, recordkeeping, and continuous safety improvements in collaboration with operations and project management. OSHA certification and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field is required or demonstrated experience.
• OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations and practices.
• Excellent communication, public speaking, and leadership skills are essential.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive safety culture among site supervision and workers.
• Assist in supervision and administration of safety, compliance, and training activities.
• Identify, document, and resolve hazardous work conditions and unsafe behaviors.
• Provide coaching on safe practices to workers and supervision.
• Prepare and review safety documentation including JHAs, permits, action plans, and SOPs.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits using a cloud-based system and close open items.
