Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Safety Manager to oversee day-to-day safety on a large construction project in Edgerton, KS. You will conduct site walks, audits, and safety training, and coordinate with leadership and subcontractors to maintain OSHA standards.

The role requires CHST certification, construction safety experience, and the ability to lead investigations and corrective actions across a 60-person field team. This is a project-based, on-site position with a strong field presence.

Qualifications

• CHST certification minimum
• Construction safety experience
• Experience conducting jobsite safety inspections and compliance audits
• Ability to identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions
• Ability to effectively coach field personnel on safe work practices

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety walks, inspections, and compliance audits.
• Lead employee safety orientations, OSHA 10/30, and job‑specific safety training.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with project and regulatory safety requirements.
• Identify jobsite hazards and develop corrective action plans with project leadership.
• Support incident investigations and injury/illness case management.
• Inspect tools, equipment, lifts, forklifts, and fall protection equipment.
• Facilitate and evaluate daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
• Coach employees on safe work practices and address unsafe behaviors.
• Maintain an active field presence and communicate safety concerns to project leadership.
