Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking an on-site Project Manager to lead a medium-sized construction project, directing overall progress, safety, and financial outcomes. The role requires coordinating a diverse team daily on the job site and delivering value to clients and stakeholders.

You will collaborate with the project team, develop schedules, manage subcontractors, and ensure quality and compliance with contract documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5–10 years of project management experience in construction.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of project safety plans with corporate safety colleagues.
• Contribute to project controls, risk mitigation, and contract management.
• Establish change management and project financial forecasts to meet contract requirements.
• Create and manage a project-specific quality plan aligned with contract documents.
• Create and manage a closeout plan aligned with contract documents.
• Provide leadership to the project team and coordinate charters for engineers and superintendents.
• Train direct reports on processes and daily tasks.
• Contribute to subcontracting strategy with scope definitions and deliverables.
• Prepare and enforce contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
• Coordinate insurance and bonding enrollment; ensure compliance of trades.
• Support estimates for select bid packages and GMP preparation.
• Perform constructability and coordination reviews.
• Create CPM schedules and monthly schedule updates.
• Develop networking strategies by understanding local markets.
• Collaborate with business development to align with sales strategies and client deliverables.
