Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is sourcing an Accounting Manager for a private, owner-led commercial construction company. The role is on-site, reports to the owner, and leads a three-person team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in accounting, strong QuickBooks Online skills, and experience with job-costing, AP/AR, and financial reporting. Construction project accounting is preferred, with the ability to work closely with project staff and owners.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience required.
• Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, GL, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Construction/project accounting experience preferred.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software/systems.
• Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Hands-on, organized, able to work with an entrepreneurial owner.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and a three-person team.
• Manage month-end close, general ledger and reconciliations.
• Oversee AP, AR, collections and customer billing.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Strengthen job-costing and project-accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain accounting controls.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with the owner.
• Collaborate with project managers and coordinators.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes.
• Coordinate with outside CPA and financial partners.
