Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a construction-focused client in Milpitas, CA to hire a Project Accountant for a 100% in-office role. You will manage budgets, costs, and forecasts across construction projects, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely financial reporting.

The position is temp-to-hire with pay ranging from $38.00 to $43.00 per hour. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, possess advanced Excel skills, and can communicate effectively with cross-functional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP and regulations.
• Strong understanding of construction project accounting principles.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook & Excel) – Advanced.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and teams to track project budgets, expenses, and revenue.
• Monitor project costs, ensuring they align with approved budgets and industry standards.
• Prepare accurate and timely project financial reports for management review.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable specific to construction projects.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of project financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of project forecasts, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies in all project-related transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of contract documentation and change orders.
• Participate in project review meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations.
