Job summary

Build Group, Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Project Accountant to work closely with Project Management on project accounting, reporting, subcontracting and administrative issues.

The role reports to the Area Controller and is on-site. Responsibilities include transactional, compliance and reporting functions; reviewing and coding subcontractor invoices; preparing monthly owner billings and schedule of value updates; and maintaining lien waivers and SOV documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in construction accounting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete tasks with quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present work clearly.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform transactional, compliance and reporting tasks for project accounting.
• Review, code and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices with Project Managers.
• Prepare monthly owner billings and schedule of value updates; process owner change orders.
• Maintain documentation of SOV revisions and contingency use; obtain lien waivers.
• Track subcontractor insurance and licensing compliance; process expense reports.
