Job summary

LHH in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to manage project finances, heavy Excel usage, and precise reporting. You will handle payroll, billing, WIP schedules, and interfacing with project managers to forecast costs and performance.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in construction project accounting, strong job costing and billing experience, and experience with ERP systems. Onsite role with competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting experience in construction or related industry.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, percent complete accounting, and construction billing.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Experience with construction or project-based ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll.
• Prepare and process billing (progress, time and materials, and AIA), including AR and collections support.
• Monitor and maintain WIP schedules, percent complete, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Review and reconcile subcontractor costs, purchase orders, vendor invoices, and change orders.
• Support month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate project financials and forecasting.
