Job summary

Froehling & Robertson, Inc. (F&R) is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician in Danville, VA. The role involves inspecting contractor work on construction sites and performing field soil and concrete tests under supervision to ensure adherence to project specs.

Travel to sites as needed with immediate data transmission to project managers. The candidate will perform field testing of soils, asphalt, masonry and concrete, prepare detailed field reports, and support laboratory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; construction/field experience preferred (if any).
• Experience in field testing of soils/concrete is a plus.
• Ability to read plans/specifications and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete.
• Prepare detailed field reports with test results and observations.
• Perform laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepare results reports.
• Evaluate site and subgrade conditions and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and staff on construction issues.
