Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead subcontractors and trade labor on a construction site in Austin, TX. You will ensure safety, maintain schedule delivery, quality of work, and adherence to budget while supervising Field Engineers and interns.

You will coordinate multi-trade work, interface with owners and architects, and manage subcontractor payments and contract compliance to keep the project on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least two years' related experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and staffing for trades.
• Coordinate work among trades to promote a smooth project operation and resolve issues.
• Manage the site safety program and subcontractor safety compliance with Turner standards.
• Supervise and develop Field Engineers and interns as assigned.
• Create schedules and determine sequencing of work; implement recovery strategies to maintain the schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues and resolve them.
• Manage billing related to work in place, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Maintain knowledge of contracts, subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and local codes.
• Ensure work is installed in accordance with approved contract documents.
