Job summary

JRM Construction Management is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support daily on-site operations for interior and high-end renovation projects in Los Angeles. The role involves assisting the Superintendent, coordinating trades, tracking materials, and enforcing safety protocols to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to read drawings, and proficiency with MS Office and construction software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in commercial construction
• Proficient in reading and interpreting commercial construction plans and specifications
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification required
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on site

Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent in managing daily site operations, including trade coordination, material tracking, and safety compliance
• Maintain proficiency in document control tools and processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Track procurement items from submittal through delivery and site installation
• Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, communicating relevant information to stakeholders
• Supervise designated trades and work areas within the project scope
• Cover the jobsite in the Superintendent's absence, identifying and resolving safety or project issues with subcontractors and building staff
• Prepare and manage construction administration tasks such as submittal and RFI processes, meeting minutes, progress tracking, and safety paperwork
• Coordinate building access, delivery schedules, and site logistics
• Communicate clearly and professionally with multiple stakeholders, adapting messaging for varied audiences
• Utilize construction software and Microsoft Office tools to support project documentation and communication
• Serve as an assistant to one Superintendent on small to medium projects, or as part of a team supporting multiple Superintendents on larger projects
