Job summary

Turner Construction Company in San Antonio, TX is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to lead subcontractors and Turner trade labor on site. You will ensure safety, maintain schedule delivery, uphold quality standards, and manage budget within assigned areas while supervising field engineers and interns.

You will read contract documents and schedules, oversee communications with owners and architects, and develop recovery plans to keep the project on track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 2 years' related experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work, and schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Sequence work to meet project schedule and integrate SPO activities.
• Oversee scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and staffing levels.
• Coordinate trades for a coordinated project operation and resolve site issues.
• Develop and implement SPO safety plan.
• Supervise trade forepersons and conduct performance appraisals.
• Develop field engineers and interns and evaluate performance.
• Create schedules and recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers about field issues and resolutions.
• Manage billing related to work-in-place, payrolls, invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure work complies with contract documents.
