Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Summer 2027 Construction Intern in Chicago to support day-to-day activities on active project sites and at a main office. You will learn construction management, business and financial aspects, safety protocols, and subcontractor coordination while earning educational credits where applicable.

You will be supervised, participate in training, and gain exposure to project lifecycle tasks such as meetings, documentation, and progress reporting to help

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program (Engineering, Construction Management or related).
• Desire to learn construction management concepts and field practices.
• Ability to work on active construction sites and in office environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site safety rules and wear PPE as required.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn about construction management.
• Relate academic knowledge to on-site activities and daily tasks.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings and orientation.
• Support with start-up activities, RFIs, submittals, and contract information as needed.
• Assist with preparation of estimates for changes in work and project close out.
