Job summary

Hargrave Electric Co., Inc. in Northwest Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee payroll, A/P, A/R, invoicing, and financial reporting. This hands-on role covers tax reporting, insurance administration, and project costing within a privately held commercial contractor.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, strong Excel and software skills, and a background in construction accounting. Full-time, on-site schedule with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial management experience.
• Strong experience with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with monthly financial statements and account reconciliations.
• Construction or project-based accounting preferred.
• CPA not required.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll and process salaries.
• Oversee accounts payable and vendor payments.
• Prepare customer invoices and coordinate billing with PMs.
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections.
• Maintain general ledger and perform journal entries.
• Assist with monthly and year-end financial statements.
• Maintain job costing and project accounting information.
• Coordinate with project managers on billing and costs.
• Assist with audits and insurance-related reviews.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation.
• Support cash flow budgeting and financial reporting.
• Work with ownership on financial matters.
