Candidates must have seven years of progressive accounting experience, including three years in construction accounting, plus three years in supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial close, reconciliations, and GAAP reporting.
• Oversee project accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting.
• Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury activities.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and Texas tax compliance.
• Strengthen internal controls and ERP optimization.
• Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with operations teams.

Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary plus bonus and excellent benefits

Morgan Benjamin Search Group is partnering with a growing construction services company to hire an Accounting Manager. This role will lead daily accounting operations and accounting staff, with direct exposure to leadership and opportunities to improve processes as the company expands.

***Construction accounting experience is required. Heavy civil construction experience is preferred.***

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial close, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee project accounting, job costing, and work in progress reporting.
• Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury activities.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and Texas sales and use tax compliance.
• Strengthen internal controls, improve accounting processes, and support ERP optimization.
• Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with project and operations teams.

Qualifications

• At least seven years of progressive accounting experience, including three years in construction accounting.
• At least three years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, and construction accounting.
• Experience with Texas sales and use tax, accounts payable, and treasury operations.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with construction accounting ERP systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a practical approach to managing daily operations.
• Ability to work fully in office in South Houston.
