Job summary

Project Solutions, Inc. seeks a Concrete Inspector to support USACE on the New Lock at the Soo project in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The role provides independent QA oversight of mass concrete construction, witnessing testing, and documentation of activities on-site.

The candidate will work with USACE QA staff and contractor QC teams, attend meetings, review drawings and specs, and ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 safety requirements while supporting a major civil works project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC on concrete placements in commercial/industrial construction.
• Reading construction plans and specifications is required.
• Experience on USACE projects or heavy commercial construction.
• Must have valid driver's license and operate site transport.
• OSHA-30 training required before arrival on site.
• Testing personnel must hold ACI certifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Provide QA oversight of mass concrete DFOW for the New Lock Chamber.
• Ensure contractor work meets contract specs and USACE standards.
• Coordinate with QC staff, safety personnel, and USACE QA.
• Attend daily QA meetings and document discussions.
• Maintain daily QA inspection reports with photos.
• Upload reports into USACE RMS within deadlines.
• Notify USACE of safety hazards or potential infrastructure damage.
• Perform or witness concrete testing as directed.
