Job summary

Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to support the USACE on the New Lock at the Soo project in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. This on-site role oversees mass concrete construction and ensures compliance with contract drawings, specs, and USACE quality standards.

You will perform field inspections, witness concrete testing, document activities, and coordinate with USACE QA staff and contractor QC teams, with frequent site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control on concrete construction projects.
• Familiarity with reading construction plans and specifications.
• Experience on USACE or heavy commercial/industrial construction projects.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to operate site transport.
• Must complete OSHA-30 training prior to arrival on site.
• Certifications: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I; ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician; ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1.
• Must pass federal security background check and comply with site access procedures.
• Able to perform physical work on construction sites and work variable shifts.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent QA oversight of mass concrete DFOW for the New Lock Chamber.
• Ensure contractor work complies with contract docs and USACE quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractor QC, safety personnel, and USACE QA staff.
• Attend daily QA/Contractor QC meetings and document discussions.
• Perform or witness concrete testing (slump, air, temp, strength cylinders).
• Prepare daily QA inspection reports with photos and findings.
• Upload reports into USACE RMS within required timelines.
• Notify USACE of safety hazards or infra­structure risks.
• Maintain and clean testing equipment and laboratory areas.
