Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and milling centers on a Monday–Friday, on-site schedule in Kentucky. The role demands reading blueprints, applying precision tolerances, and editing CNC programs as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in CNC and conventional machining, with Fanuc experience preferred and the ability to work overtime or weekends when required. Safety and quality are emphasized in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experiences in CNC operations and conventional machining.
• Requires accuracy and responsibility with limited supervision.
• Training and/or experience using measuring equipment and reading drawings is needed.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Fanuc control experience desired.
• Journeyman or apprentice papers preferred.
• Overtime may be required; ability to work any shift, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Produces and assures quality of parts (utilizing necessary measuring gages and equipment) and machine parts on all machines.
• Operates CNC lathes and mills and multiple machining centers
• May operate conventional machines as needed
• Reads and studies blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instruction such as feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut, fixtures and cutting tools to be used.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications
• Programs and/or edits CNC machinery
• Adhere to Wabtec Code of Conduct
• Other duties as assigned
