Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate and perform daily clinical research activities within the Center for Clinical Research Management for the Critical Care Trials Group in Internal Medicine. The role includes screening, enrolling, and consenting patients, educating families, and scheduling procedures per protocol.

Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, monitoring for adverse events, and ensuring IRB/FDA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences or other medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience required.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience or knowledge in the relevant specialty area is preferred, and familiarity with medical terminology is desired. Clinical research certification from an accredited agency is considered an asset. Proficient computer skills are essential, including experience with Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform daily clinical research activities in accordance with approved protocols.
• Assist with assessing patient records and identify eligibility; recruit, interview and enroll patients; obtain informed consent.
• Educate patients and families about study purpose, goals, and processes.
• Coordinate scheduling and follow-through of appointments and testing per protocol.
• Assist with collecting, processing and evaluating biological samples and data.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions; notify appropriate professionals and sponsors as required.
• Ensure compliance with IRB, FDA, and sponsor regulations; support quality reviews.
• Contribute to developing new research protocols and criteria for study goals.
