Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support daily activities in approved protocols. The role spans multiple OSU locations including James Campus and OSU Medical campuses, with a first shift, full-time schedule.

Responsibilities include patient eligibility screening, enrollment, consent, data collection, and coordination of visits, tests, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, health sciences, social sciences, or related field.
• One year of experience in a clinical research setting (human subjects).
• Knowledge of medical terminology desired.
• Clinical research certification from an accredited certifying agency desired.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications desired.
• Strong communication skills with clinical staff, research participants, and outside collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient records to identify eligible participants for protocols.
• Recruit, interview and enroll patients.
• Obtain informed consent per regulatory and sponsor requirements.
• Educate patients and families about purpose and processes of the study.
• Coordinate scheduling and follow-up of patient care and testing per protocol.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and notify appropriate professionals.
• Document adverse responses and alert sponsors/regulators.
• Assist with collecting, extracting, coding, and analyzing data.
• Support IRB/FDA and sponsor regulatory compliance.
• Prepare for external QA/IRB reviews.
• Assist with developing new research protocols and study goals.
