Job summary

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J.

Solove Research Institute seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator to manage daily trial activities within the Clinical Trials Office at OSU Wexner Medical Center. Responsibilities include screening records, recruiting and enrolling patients, obtaining consent, coordinating visits, monitoring safety, and ensuring IRB/FDA compliance while supporting data collection and protocol development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health sciences, social sciences, or other medical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• One year of experience in a clinical research capacity is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology desired.
• Clinical research certification from an accredited certifying agency desired.
• Computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications desired.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clinical staff, research participants, and outside collaborators.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessing patient records to identify patients eligible for specified clinical research protocols.
• Recruit, interview and enroll patients.
• Obtain informed consent and ensure consent process compliance with regulatory and sponsor requirements.
• Educate patients and families about study purpose, goals, and processes.
• Coordinate scheduling and follow-up of patient care appointments and testing.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and notify appropriate clinical professionals.
• Document unfavorable responses and report to sponsors and regulatory agencies.
• Assist with collecting, extracting, coding, and analyzing data.
• Support compliance with IRBs, FDA, and sponsor regulations.
• Coordinate and prepare for external quality reviews by IRB or sponsors.
• Participate in development of new protocols and study goals.
