Job summary

Providence Centralia Hospital seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform bench duties across multiple sections, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, molecular and urinalysis. You will plan, perform and evaluate tests, and communicate findings with physicians and staff.

Required is a Bachelor's in MLS or related science with clinical rotation; equivalent combinations with 60 credits and core sciences are acceptable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science with clinical rotation
• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science plus MLS program
• 60 semester/90 quarter hours with chemistry/biology and 12/18 hours related courses plus 3 months clinical
• Upon hire: MT/MLS certification (ASCP/AMT)
• 1 year in a clinical laboratory performing moderate/high complexity testing

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform and evaluate laboratory testing across sections as assigned
• Maintain communications with physicians, patients and hospital staff
• Participate in quality control and appropriate documentation of results
• Contribute to a culture of patient-focused care and teamwork

Skills

Clinical laboratory experience

Moderate/high complexity testing

ASCP/AMT MLS certifications

Molecular/Microbiology lab exposure

Education

MLS or related bachelor's with clinical rotation

Chemistry/Biology background + MLS program

60 credit hours with required science courses + 3 months clinical

National MT/MLS ASCP or AMT certification at hire

1 year experience in clinical lab
