Job summary

Northern Clearing Inc. is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to lead field operations across U.S. projects, with emphasis on earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, and environmental controls.

The ideal candidate will ensure OSHA safety compliance, manage subcontractors, and direct site activities with extensive field experience. Travel across the United States is required to support solar, BESS, and substation civil projects.

Qualifications

• Experience and proficiency in Project setup, office, yard, equipment, personnel (union) at project location.
• Operations plan and scheduling for project.
• Experience and proficiency in reading and understanding environmental permits and drawings.
• Experience and proficiency in reading blueprints and CAD drawings.
• Ability to use Trimble Business Center and Propeller Aero for modeling, cut/fill calcs and drone flight data upload and processing.
• Experience and proficiency in using Trimble GPS data collector for field data collection and calibration of site to include base station setup, use of repeaters and uploading of GPS machine control data files.
• Experience in material submittals.
• Experience and proficiency in mass excavation cut/fill operations and equipment management for high production projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site leadership and coordinate field operations.
• Manage earthwork, utilities, storm drainage and environmental controls.
• Ensure OSHA and company safety compliance across sites.
• Oversee subcontractors and interface with project management.
• Direct project planning, scheduling, and budgeting at the field level.
• Review environmental permits and drawings to guide construction activities.
• Model, quantify, and manage earthwork using Trimble and CAD tools.
• Monitor production, quality, and material handling on active sites.
