Job summary

Northern Clearing Inc. is seeking a Civil Construction Superintendent to lead field operations across the United States, focusing on earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, and environmental controls for solar, BESS, and substation civil projects.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience, strong leadership, and a proven track record in managing subcontractors and ensuring OSHA safety compliance. Travel across the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of field experience in civil construction supervision.
• Ability to lead on-site teams and ensure OSHA safety compliance.
• Experience with earthwork, utilities, drainage and grading for solar/BESS/substation projects.
• Ability to read environmental permits and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead project setup, office, yard, equipment, and union personnel at the project location.
• Develop operations plan and schedule for each project.
• Interpret environmental permits and drawings accurately.
• Read blueprints and CAD drawings for field execution.
• Utilize Trimble and drone data for modeling and data processing.
• Collect field GPS data and calibrate site with base station setup.
• Manage material submittals and mass excavation operations.
• Oversee installation works including ponds, drainage, culverts and earthworks.
• Coordinate roadwork, geotextile/geogrid use and underlayment decisioning.
• Track production and project budget in real time with management.
• Communicate effectively via email and formal correspondence.
