Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager for a hands-on, on-site leadership role at a rustic summer camp. The position is seasonal (May–Sept), full-time and exempt, requiring living on-site and a demanding 6-day/70-hour week.

You will supervise daily culinary operations, staff scheduling, budgeting, and allergen safety across multiple facilities. This on-site role offers room and board, competitive pay, a performance bonus, and travel allowance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional cooking experience.
• ServSafe Manager Certification (Allergens required before start date; company-sponsored).
• Experience leading high-volume, on-site camp kitchen operations.
• Proficient in menu specs, portion control, and food quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Lead, schedule, and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Culinary & Quality Excellence: Manage flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
• Allergen & Safety Compliance: Strictly manage food allergy protocols (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.) and sanitation standards.
• Administration & Budget: Manage inventory, place orders, control budgets, track daily reporting.
• Client Relations: Liaise between kitchen operations, campers, program leadership, and Wolfoods office.
