Vallen in Huntsville, AL is seeking an On-site Buyer to work at a customer location, purchasing products, goods, and materials to meet price, quality, timing, and supply reliability standards. You will engage with suppliers, review forecasts, place requisitions and orders, and drive cost savings while adhering to LEAN practices.

This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ years of procurement experience; CPM certification preferred.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Computer skills and ability to learn ERP and inventory management tools.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Self-starter who can work independently with accuracy.
• Proficient in MS Office and capable of data analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Perform procurement to meet customer demand and align with purchasing strategies.
• Review and approve inventory forecasts and replenishment recommendations.
• Expedite or de-expedite orders and place requisitions and vendor POs.
• Research vendors, ensure compliance with specs, pricing and delivery.
• Negotiate vendor returns and manage aging/excess inventory.
• Communicate order status with customers and resolve issues with suppliers.
• Maintain supplier relationships and document cost-saving opportunities.
• Follow LEAN practices and maintain a clean, professional work site.
• Produce KPI data and support operational improvements.
