Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Lexington, KY is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to maintain and optimize industrial building systems, including boilers, chillers, HVAC, plumbing and FLS. You will lead preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with vendors.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience with commercial/industrial systems, strong reading of drawings, and knowledge of building automation and safety codes.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on experience with commercial/industrial building mechanical systems.
• Experience with HVAC operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Working knowledge of plumbing systems, controls, and building automation systems.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Experience with fire life safety systems and code compliance.
• Proficiency with control platforms and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize boilers, chillers, HVAC, plumbing, and fire life safety systems across facilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot system failures and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs.
• Support capital improvement projects with technical input and oversight.
• Ensure compliance with codes, OSHA, and safety standards.
