Job summary

Naval Station Great Lakes is seeking an on-site Housing Manager for the Bachelor Housing Department. The incumbent will manage assigned buildings, oversee room readiness, and coordinate with Public Works and contractors as needed.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, maintenance requests, safety oversight, and contributing to short- and long-range planning. This role requires experience in lodging operations, strong communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Requires three years of work experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations and administration related to maintenance operations.
• Professional knowledge of the lodging organization, administration, policies/procedures, and supervisory practices in conducting day to day operations.
• Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer and various software programs, including knowledge of the property management system.
• Must possess basic math and reading skills, along with the ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing with personnel of all grade and ranks.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site management for assigned buildings in the Bachelor Housing Department at Naval Station Great Lakes.
• Perform inspections of vacant rooms and common areas daily for cleanliness and maintenance.
• Initiate and track trouble calls and work requests with maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with front desk and staff to ensure rooms are ready for occupancy.
• Serve as safety officer for assigned buildings and participate in planning.
