Job summary

Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois seeks a facilities maintenance worker to perform semi-skilled trades across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting, and related tasks under the supervision of the Maintenance Leader.

You will operate basic hand and power tools, assist with events, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and minor repairs, and drive department vehicles as needed, all while observing safety and HazMat/OSHA rules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of semi-skilled elements across multiple trades.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret basic work orders and plans.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled maintenance across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring, painting and related trades.
• Assist in events, grounds maintenance and snow removal; maintain athletic fields and exterior grounds.
• Operate department vehicles and install event equipment as needed.
