Job summary

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a 100% in-office environment. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and help ensure safe, compliant operations under supervision.

The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience,1icensing where required, and CFC certification preferred. Strong record-keeping, safety awareness, and teamwork with senior engineers are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of job-related experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; gaining experience with BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook and laptop/phone applications for work order systems, email, and training platforms.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; capable of physically demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate issues as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies; assist with preventive maintenance tasks and contractor oversight.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE; ensure OSHA/NFC/NFPA compliance; report hazards and participate in safety audits.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; support recovery during severe weather and system outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; collaborate with senior engineers and technicians.
• Develop technical skills with senior engineers; participate in professional development programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
