Job summary

Cousins Properties is seeking a Building Engineer for a hands-on role at a commercial office in Tempe, AZ. You will perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and support operations of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems on-site.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in building maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work outside core hours. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential for daily interactions with tenants and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in building maintenance or related trade.
• High School Diploma or GED required; HVAC/electronic trade degree preferred.
• Must be able to operate ladders, lifts, hand tools, voltmeter, and other safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Electrical systems: knowledge of AC circuits and safety procedures; reset breakers; fault finding.
• HVAC systems: basic refrigeration cycle knowledge; troubleshoot PIU/VAV devices; energy management set points.
• Plumbing systems: perform basic preventative maintenance; service valves and fixtures; inspect pumps.
• Life safety systems: operate fire alarms and emergency generators; conduct weekly generator/pump logs.
• Miscellaneous: read drawings and wiring diagrams; perform light maintenance and repairs as needed.
