Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Building Engineer to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. The role requires strong knowledge of building operations and energy management to keep facilities efficient.

The position is on-site in Tempe, AZ, with potential for lead work and coordination with contractors. A high school diploma and at least 3 years of building maintenance experience are preferred; relevant licenses may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years related experience or trade school training.
• Minimum 3 years building maintenance experience.
• Knowledgeable in HVAC, electrical and building automation systems; appropriate license/permit for trade as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation per design and environmental specs.
• Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
• Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
• Lead mechanics, technicians, and outside contractors on projects as needed.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and summon assistance.
• Maintain energy management programs to minimize operating costs.
• Maintain building lighting system and perform related repairs or replacements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
