Job summary

Colliers International is seeking a Building Engineer in Phoenix, AZ, to ensure maintenance systems operate efficiently and safely for clients and properties. You will respond to requests, prioritize work orders, and perform proactive maintenance to reduce downtime.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in building maintenance or engineering, strong HVAC/ electrical/ plumbing knowledge, and solid MS Office skills.

Qualifications

3–5 years' experience in building/property maintenance or engineering.
Solid knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, energy management systems and building mechanical equipment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; on‑call for after‑hours/weekend emergencies.

Responsibilities

Ensure maintenance systems run efficiently to keep client properties safe.
Respond to client requests, prioritize and assign work orders, and follow up for minimal downtime.
Conduct regular inspections, alarm testing, and preventative maintenance programs.
Develop and maintain relationships with property managers, suppliers and department leaders.
Manage multiple priorities and reports, including inventory, records, and schedules.
Maintain and check daily operating logs for HVAC, equipment, meters and complaints.
Ensure building systems and tenant requests are handled cost‑effectively.
Assist in budget development and RFP processes for projects.
Understand operating procedures and proper chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.
