Job summary

White Cap is hiring immediately for an Assistant Branch Manager in California. This role supports talent acquisition and branch sales, assists with procurement and inventory, and ensures smooth operations in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in branch operations, with ERP/Oracle familiarity, and a focus on customer service and team leadership. The position is on-site with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction supply, building materials, or industrial distribution environments.
• Knowledge of branch operations including inventory control, order fulfillment, and warehouse processes.
• Experience supporting or leading front-line teams (warehouse, counter, or inside sales).
• Ability to resolve customer issues and operational challenges in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with ERP/order management systems, Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support talent acquisition, development, and retention of branch sales and operations associates.
• Manage the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence and assist in driving sales and profitability.
• Coordinate procurement, inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehousing, and sales per company policies.
• Investigate customer complaints (damaged items, overcharges, delays) and adjust resources as needed.
• Manage branch-level problems, inventory discrepancies, and required adjustments.
• Support counter and inside sales; ensure orders are billed accurately and timely; schedule staff and monitor budgets.
• This position typically requires 5+ years of experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
