Job summary

Alan K. Geer, P.A., CPA in Tampa, FL is seeking a capable bookkeeper/assistant to work directly with the principal CPA. This on-site role involves handling client books, tax support, payroll, and financial statements, with exposure to the full range of a CPA practice.

You will reconcile QuickBooks, prepare 1040 and business returns, process payroll, communicate with clients, and help with office duties. Flexible PT/FT options and mentorship await someone detail‑oriented eager to grow.

Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks (Desktop and Online).
• Hands-on experience with personal income tax returns.
• Experience at the intersection of bookkeeping and tax preparation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain client books in QuickBooks: reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR, month-end close.
• Prepare or support individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns, including data entry.
• Process payroll and prepare quarterly and year-end payroll reports.
• Prepare financial statements for CPA review.
• Communicate with clients on missing documents, deadlines, and routine questions.
• Handle office administration: scheduling, filing, e-file confirmations, mail, and phones.
