Job summary

Melby & Associates PA in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to maintain financial records for multiple clients. You will record transactions, bring books to trial balance, and prepare tax forms with accuracy.

The ideal candidate has an associates or bachelor's in accounting, 2+ years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel. You will handle payroll reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and collaborate with the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Enter financial data and transactions for multiple clients in QuickBooks and Gusto.
• Verify accuracy of entered transactions and reconcile statements.
• Reconcile monthly bank, credit card, and other accounts.
• Assist with payroll reporting and account reconciliations.
• Assist with onboarding new clients and preparing trial balance.
• Analyze budgets and financial information; process AP/AR and tax forms.
