Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team in an on-site role in Washington. You will perform basic to moderately complex banking transactions, deliver high levels of service, and assist customers with inquiries, account maintenance, and referrals for additional products.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to understand customer loan requests and make appropriate referrals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, transfers, and mail/night drop processing.
• Provide exemplary customer service in person and by phone, identify needs and refer to products and services.
• Maintain cash balance and review transactions for red flags and security.
• Assist with branch opening/closing and compliance tasks, data gathering, and reporting.
