Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our on-site team in Washington. You will perform basic to moderately complex banking transactions under supervision, delivering high-level service, assisting customers, and processing account maintenance with accuracy and integrity.

Key responsibilities include transaction processing, customer service and sales referrals, cash handling, and regulatory compliance tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a banking environment with basic knowledge of bank deposit products and services preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling experience in a customer facing role required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine teller transactions and works directly with clients, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and night drop transactions.
• Provides exemplary customer service in person and over the phone; identifies customer needs and makes appropriate referrals for products and services.
• Maintains and balances a cash supply; adheres to cash handling policies and balances cash at end of shift; reviews transactions for red flags.
• Gathers data and processes reports to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory programs; assists with branch audits as requested.
