Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our on-site team in Santa Ynez, California. Under general supervision, you will perform basic to moderately complex banking transactions, delivering high-level service by accurately processing transactions, resolving inquiries, and maintaining accounts.

You will handle teller duties, assist with statements and checks, manage address changes, card maintenance, and ensure cash balancing with strict regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year in a banking environment with basic bank deposit knowledge preferred.
• 1 year in customer service and cash handling in a customer-facing role required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team.
• Ability to make decisions using available information.
• Knowledge of basic bank deposit products and services.
• Ability to understand loan requests and refer appropriately.
• Ability to refer customers to additional banking products and services.
• Familiarity with relevant bank policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine teller transactions and service clients.
• Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and mail/night drop items.
• Support account reconcilement, statements, check orders, address changes, stop payments, debit card maintenance, and safe deposit access.
• Assist at other branches as needed.
