Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer Intern to support reliability and performance of material handling systems in fulfillment centers. You will work on troubleshooting PLCs, SCADA devices, and networked control systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC, ethernet networks, Profibus, etc.).
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
• Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb stairs, and lift up to 49 pounds.
• Shift patterns may include nights, weekends, and holidays; most sites follow a 4-on/3-off cycle.
