Job summary
Amazon's Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team seeks an Automation Engineer Intern to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot control systems, analyze metrics, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams across MHE devices like conveyors and sortation systems.
This is a ten-week, full-time internship (40 hours per week) located in a fulfillment center or operations building in the
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program for automation engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or another related field.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC controllers, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
- Monitor MHE metrics and address system performance issues with maintenance/operations.
- Drive standard work and continuous improvement through an intern project.
- Work shifts up to 12 hours with potential nights, weekends, and holidays; most sites use a 4-day work week with 3 days off.
