Job summary

Shrub Oak International School in New York is seeking a Pines Assistant Supervisor to help lead daily operations on site, support Youth Care Specialists, and ensure safety and program fidelity.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2 years of relevant experience, and strong communication; opportunities for professional growth, DBT-informed programming, and collaboration with clinicians and education staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in residential, clinical, or educational settings.
• Experience working with individuals with autism and/or psychiatric acuity preferred.
• Experience with crisis management and behavioral interventions required; DBT experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; documentation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support during assigned shifts and oversee daily operations.
• Delegate tasks and supervise Youth Care Specialists to ensure coverage.
• Maintain direct care duties while supporting leadership on the floor.
• Support implementation of individualized treatment plans and DBT-informed programming.
• Coordinate shift handoffs and staff scheduling for continuity of care.
• Collaborate with Supervisors, Clinicians, and Education staff.
• Provide real-time intervention and de-escalation during crises.
• Complete administrative tasks including documentation and incident reports.
