Shrub Oak International School (SOIS) in New York is seeking Pines Assistant Supervisor to support daily operations and front-line care for students with autism and complex needs. This on-site role combines direct care with shift leadership and coordination across clinical, education, and residential teams.

The candidate will guide Youth Care Specialists, de-escalate crises, and ensure adherence to individualized plans while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in residential, clinical, or educational settings.
• Experience with autism, developmental disabilities, or psychiatric needs.
• Crisis management experience; DBT experience preferred.
• Ability to mentor staff and supervise on shift.

Responsabilités

• Provide frontline support for daily operations and programming during assigned shifts.
• Assist in delegating tasks and overseeing Youth Care Specialists (YCS) to ensure proper coverage and support.
• Maintain responsibility for direct care duties while supporting leadership functions on the floor.
• Support implementation of individualized treatment plans, behavioral interventions, and DBT-informed programming.
• Coordinate shift handoffs and team communication while supporting staff scheduling to ensure continuity of care and adequate coverage.
• Collaborate with Supervisors, Clinicians, and Education staff to support coordinated student care.
• Provide real-time intervention and de-escalation support during crisis situations.
• Support student engagement and skill development in academic, residential, and recreational settings.
• Assist education and recreation teams with in-class and programmatic support (shift dependent).
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and program expectations to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
• Complete administrative tasks including documentation, incident reports, progress tracking, and operational support.
• Serve as a resource for staff and students during shift operations.
• Step into supervisory responsibilities when the Supervisor is unavailable and participate in required meetings, training, and professional development.
