Job summary

GPAC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for heavy industrial construction. The role supports the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and change management on-site to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience in heavy construction, a degree in engineering or construction management, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel and MS Project. This is an on-site Alabama role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial or heavy construction project support.
• Working knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of project management best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with daily project planning, scheduling, and coordination
• Support safety and quality compliance across all jobsite activities
• Track project costs, budgets, and change orders
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries
• Help maintain project documentation, reports, and schedules
• Participate in meetings with field teams, clients, and project stakeholders
